Lahendong
Geothermal Power Plant (PLTP) Lahendong 1, 2 and 3 will supply electricity to the people of North Sulawesi with a more environmentally friendly energy based geothermal resources. The potential of geothermal resources Lahendong / Tompaso estimated at 200 MWe.
PLTP Lahendong currently has 9 producing wells with 2 injection wells to supply steam to PLTP. PLTP Lahendong Unit 1 with a capacity of 20 MW has been in operation since the date of August 21, 2001. While for Units 2 and 3 will be operating and planned to be inaugurated by the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Purnomo Yusgiantoro
Development of
geothermal resources (geothermal)

to be a reliable energy source along with the
depletion of oil and gas reserves in the world. In

energy is believed to be more environmentally
friendly because the resulting lower
emissions than other
plants that use coal,
oil or natural gas.
Another benefit to the environment
is not the
waste disposal openly because of the water condensate and
water production is injected
back into the well so that the stability of the reservoir pressure is maintained.
Overall, Indonesia has geothermal potential of 27,510 MW, has been on stage a production of 1052 MW, is under development amounted to 1.647.5 MW. The Government planned to tender 680 MW geothermal.
